Libitina was the Roman goddess of death and funerals.
She had her temple in a grove of the Esquiline hill near Rome, where she kept the supplies for a funeral.
Here you could rent or buy this equipment or you could ask a “libitinarii” (undertaker) to arrange it for you.
She also had the responsibility for keeping a register of all deceased.
